Adding Events

To add a new event to your events calendar:

  1. Click on My Calendar in the left side menu.
  2. Click on Add New Event.
  3. Fill out the following fields.
    • Event Title – This is just a title for the event. For sporting events you may want to enter the title as Outlaws vs. Scorpions @ Billings or something similar. It’s a good idea to create a convention for how you want these to look and keep it consistent.
    • Event Description – Add any additional details about the event here. This is not required.
    • Categories – Select the category the event belongs in. Selecting the correct category for an event allows for a few things. Categories are color coded so the viewer is able to see which events applies to them at a glance. Website visitors can use the filter buttons at the bottom to only display the categories they wish to see.
    • Date and Time – Select the event date, start time, and end time. If end time is not known, you can select “Hide end time”.
    • Repetition Pattern (optional) – For events that repeat on a regular basis, you can select to repeat the event a specific number of times it should recur and how often it should recur. For example, if you have weekly meetings for one month planned, select repeats 4 times, every 1 week.
    • Event Details (optional) – This section will allow you to upload a photo to go with the event information and, if desired, a link to an external website.
    • Event Access (optional) – This section allows you to select any accessibility options that visitors to your event may be able to expect.
    • Event Location – If the location for this event has already been added then you can select it from the drop-down menu. If it does not exist in the drop-down menu and it is a location that may be used again, check the “Copy this location into the locations table” box and fill out the location details below. If this location should not be saved for future use, you can leave the “Copy this location into the locations table” box unchecked.
  4. When you are done entering your event details, click the Publish button and your event will be visible on the website immediately.
